A day in Ipswich

After a couple of days of personal and family dramas it was lovely to go for a drive to Ipswich(near Brisbane) and spend a few hours immersed in art.
We first went to the Swich Gallery to view the last day of the "Infused" exhibition in which my friend Mel Forrest was exhibiting- the ones I saw were lovely as  soem had sold and were gone!
The other pieces were all tea related and even jeff liked the tea cosies (which is something for a non-art person.)
After that we headed to the Ipswich Art Gallery and I loved the current work of Sally Harrison. A couple of images are below. I admire that she has blended aboriginal dot art and modern art techniques with colour and form that is colourful and engaging

Then to top off the afternoon we went to Pancake Manor --what we used to know as The Pancake Parlour in Geelong-ah!!!!! 80's FLASHBACK!!!!  It was the hip place to go after discoing all night--------------------------------------------------------------- ahh memories.
After a shared plate of jamacainn banana and walnut pancakes, it was time to head home.
