Well we hit the road running - or limping in my instance!!! It was through the louvre to the Champs Elyesse for shopping and jeff bought some clothes in H andM. He actually didn't need prompting although socks were important on his mind-not sure why lol!!!! But pants, jacket and shirt was fine by me!
We ambled through the gardens onto the Arch de Triomphe and went up the 300 some stairs- Lordy that was a trial but well worth the view!!!
Then printemps on the grand boulevards for a look at the Louis Vitton popup store etc where we left Lauren to salivate while we looked in La Fayette and then a coffee and homemade ice cream , more me than shopping. We left Lauren to venture to Collette another designer haven and we went home which was only a few blocks away!! Boy exhaustion was rife but beautiful. You will have to excuse the pics as iPads blogger seems to put them in random order- but here goes!

A day in Ipswich
After a couple of days of personal and family dramas it was lovely to go for a drive to Ipswich(near Brisbane) and spend a few hours immersed in art.
We first went to the Swich Gallery to view the last day of the "Infused" exhibition in which my friend Mel Forrest was exhibiting- the ones I saw were lovely as soem had sold and were gone!
The other pieces were all tea related and even jeff liked the tea cosies (which is something for a non-art person.)
After that we headed to the Ipswich Art Gallery and I loved the current work of Sally Harrison. A couple of images are below. I admire that she has blended aboriginal dot art and modern art techniques with colour and form that is colourful and engaging
After gallery it was off to the fashion parade of the Knot Macrame festival held by the the Ipswich Community Centre- sadly not well attended but a bit of a hoot. Then to top off the afternoon we went to Pancake Manor --what we used to know as The Pancake Parlour in Geelong-ah!!!!! 80's FLASHBACK!!!! It was the hip place to go after discoing all night--------------------------------------------------------------- ahh memories.
After a shared plate of jamacainn banana and walnut pancakes, it was time to head home.

Opening night for SOTA12 at Pine Rivers Gallery
OPENING NIGHT AT THE PINE RIVERS GALLERY!!!
Well after driving through rain and horrendous traffic, we arrived a little sodden but ready for Opening night -after leaving at 4.15 we got therejust before 6-so early the gallery wasnt open., but the sign was out and my quilts on it -te he!!!!
And I even wore a Dress!
My quilt Tideline being viewed -it was selected for the advertising. This quilt is based on imagery from an expose on the 10 years of drought and the hightide mark being halfway up the tree. And to think that only months after these photos were printed we were in the middle of floods across Australia
This is my second quilt - Red road/Blue Sky-based on images from my trip to central australia in the 80's when it rained while we camped at ulluru/Ayers Rock. The rock turned brown then black and the red sand turned from reds/ochres to aubergine and purples an amazing and unusual site. Sadly we arrived at our campsite the night Azaria Chamberlain went missing so the trip was memorable for more than the weather.
Elaine Campbells Quilt.
Elaine and I were the only artists present amongst around 30 or so attending the night, but it was lovely seeing the group together and the Baltic Miniatures Exhibition fitted beautifully together. We got to be introduced by the local member and of course I blushed from head to toe. the organizers were lovely and put on a spread of yummy food and assorted drinks for all tastes.
Kathryn Illif's quilt
Alison George's quilt
Rosemary Mccalls Quilt
Mel Forrest's Quilt
Below are a selection of some of the lovely Baltic Miniatures that baeutifully accompanied the quilts in bothscale and mediums. Enjoy!!!

Rusty Fun -in a bag!!
Rusty Fun -in a bag!!
After our last 2QAQ meeting (or 2quack as its lovingly called-our qld art quilters group). Ali had run a soywax and rusting day and I put my salt soaked white open muslin in a bag and left it while ai was away in Perth.
It wouldnt have lasted that long if i was home-it would be too much temptation watching it slowly develop in its clip[lock bag!
