Today was a long but enjoyable walk around the massive Louvre. If you weren't interested in the art or the works contents, then the scale of the works in height and the grandeur of the ceilings and decoration-should have been enough to impress!!!
To think of how long it would have taken an artist to create the canvas and prepare it before using ladders to sketch out the images before painting them, seemed unimaginable! Some over 5x7m tall. I must admit that them Mona Lisa was a little disappointing, as it was under glass and surrounded by throngs of people so it was really hard to see. See part 2
